Bible Classes

Doctrine is another word for "teaching." Before Jesus Christ ascended to heaven after his resurrection, he gave a command to all true followers that they should make disciples of Himself first by giving the evangel (the gospel), then by baptizing them, and lastly by teaching them to observe all things Christ commanded. We believe that understanding and applying the Bible is essential to growing as Christians. Therefore, we endeavor to faithfully teach the proper methods of Bible interpretation, the content of the Bible and what implications the Bible has on every day living. While this is done in our worship services on Sunday, we think that given the scope and size of the Bible, other teaching times are necessary.

Sunday Classes

Every Sunday morning at 9:45. Adults meet in the chapel of the church to study a book of the Bible or a topic found within the Bible. This adult Bible study is conversational and highly interactive. Our teachers do not preach sermons during this time, but are intent on inductive study of the Bible.

At the same time (9:45) qualified teachers are available to teach children and young people. Our classes are grouped by school age and are Pre-school - Kindergarten (ages 4-6), first grade - third grade, fourth grade - sixth grade, and all jr. and sr. high together.

Sunday evenings at 6:00, during the fall and winter, generally are teaching times on various subjects. Children may participate in an enjoyable activity called "Grace Builders." They enjoy games, and songs, but most importantly, the receive consistent teaching through the Bible, equipping them with depth of Bible knowledge. Teenagers also enjoy consistent Bible instruction during their time called "Grace Alive." Adults are usually offered a choice of one of two classes during for "Grace Institute."

Fall 2011 Grace Institute Classes -

Proverbs - A study in the various topics and principles found in the most practical book of the Bible. Proverbs is about how to live. The study will emphasize not just the content of Proverbs, but also how to teach the content to others, especially children and teens.

Knowing God - Based upon J.I. Packer's classic book, this class will emphasize a correct understanding of who God is, the characteristics and attirbutes of God, and how we can know God in a vibrant relationship.

Wednesday Prayer

Each Wednesday at 7:00 pm. the church gathers to study a book of the Bible and to spend time in prayer. This meeting is important as corporate prayer is found everywhere in the New Testament of the Bible.
